Michael La Sasso Qualifies for DP World Tour Q-School First Stage After LIV Golf Win

Michael La Sasso continued a summer trend of strong finishes, successfully navigating the first stage of DP World Tour Qualifying School in Michendorf, Germany. The 22-year-old secured his spot with a final-round 5-under 67 at Golf-und Country Club Seddiner See, marking another significant step in his burgeoning career that has recently included a major breakthrough.

This qualification follows La Sasso's notable victory at the LIV Golf season finale in Indianapolis just weeks prior. In that breakthrough win, he bested a field that included prominent golfers such as Jon Rahm, currently priced at +1600 (Bovada) for the Masters Tournament, and Bryson DeChambeau, available at +2200 (FanDuel) for the same major. His performance against such established talent underscored his potential.

La Sasso's path through the German Q-School event was not without tension. After a costly bogey on the par-3 11th hole put his qualification in jeopardy, he demonstrated resilience. Following a par on the 12th, La Sasso birdied four of his final six holes, propelling him to a tie for 18th place for the tournament, which was precisely the score needed to advance.

The first stage of DP World Tour Q-School saw other LIV Golf players also advance, including Josele Ballester, Luis Masaveu, and Yosuke Asaji. This initial phase serves as a crucial entry point for aspiring professionals aiming to earn playing privileges on the DP World Tour. The qualifying school process is structured in multiple stages, with successful players from the first stage moving on to subsequent rounds. Additional first-stage events are slated for upcoming weekends at Dunham Forest Golf and Country Club in Altrincham, England, and Arlandastad Golf (Masters Course) in Rosersberg, Sweden, as hopefuls continue their pursuit of a tour card.
